A letter has been issued by the Commissioner to the DCP Traffic, officers of all five zones and station in-charges. It has been said that speeding by children below 18 years of age on two-wheelers or four-wheelers is a violation of traffic rules. This will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Parents have also been requested to cooperate. At present, a case will be registered against the guardian or guardian of the minor found driving during the checking campaign.
The vehicle registration will also be cancelled for 12 months. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 25,000 will be imposed and the minor will be disqualified from obtaining a driving licence until he attains the age of 25 years.
