Life in Pilibhit is affected due to torrential rains for the last three days. Meanwhile, Sharda river also overflowed after water was released from the dam. Due to the fierce form of the river, water has entered all the villages of Puranpur tehsil area. Due to which the villages have turned into islands.

On Sunday, the water of Sharda river entered the village of Bailha in Puranpur tehsil area. Many people saved their lives by going to higher places when water entered the village. Due to waterlogging, there was also a shortage of fodder for animals. Along with this, due to waterlogging in the village, traffic on many roads also came to a halt. On Sunday, the villagers took the household goods to a safe place with the help of rubber tubes and also saved their lives by reaching higher places. During this time, most of the villagers were seen taking shelter in the Gurudwara and on the roadside.
District administration issued alert
Pilibhit’s ADM Ritu Punia has issued an alert keeping in mind the rain. Due to which even the SDM, Tehsildar and Lekhpal have been put on alert mode. Along with this, a control room has also been set up in view of the flood situation across the district. Along with this, flood posts have also been instructed to remain alert.
