1. 11 including Champai-Rameshwar took oath in Hemant cabinet: On July 8, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren won the trust vote in the House. 45 votes were cast in favor of the government, while 0 votes were cast against it. After proving majority in the House, the Hemant cabinet was expanded.

Champai Soren was the first to take oath as the new minister.

2. Jayasuriya became the coach of Sri Lanka cricket team: On July 8, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board appointed Sanath Jayasuriya as the coach of the team during the T20 and ODI series against India. He will replace former coach Chris Silverwood.

Head coach Chris Silverwood and consultant coach Mahela Jayawardene resigned from their posts after Sri Lanka’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup.
Sanath Jayasuriya has played 586 matches for Sri Lanka in all three formats.
Jayasuriya has 42 centuries and 440 wickets to his name.
He played his last international match in 2011.
Team India will tour Sri Lanka at the end of this month.
The Indian team has to play a series of three T20 matches first and then a series of three ODI matches from July 27 to August 7.
After this, Sri Lanka has to tour England at the end of August to play a three-Test match series.
The first Test is scheduled to be played from August 21 to 25, while the second Test is scheduled to be played from August 29 to September 2 and the third Test from September 6 to 9.

4. Avinash Sable created a new national record in the race: On 7 July, Indian racer Avinash Sable set a new national record at the Paris Diamond League. He completed the 3000m steeplechase race in a time of 8:9:91.
