The final of the T20 World Cup was played on 29 June
Rohit, Kohli and Bumrah played their last match in the T20 World Cup final on 29 June last month. If these three do not go on the Sri Lanka tour, then they will be a part of the Indian tour of Bangladesh from 19 September, that is, all three players will get a break of about 80 days.

Why should seniors rest?
Team India’s schedule is quite busy after the Indian tour of Bangladesh starting from 19 September. After Bangladesh, the team has to play 3 Tests against New Zealand, 5 Tests against Australia and 5 T20s and 3 ODIs against England. Not only this, the Indian team also has to participate in the Champions Trophy in February-March. In such a situation, the selectors can give rest to Rohit-Kohli Bumrah under workload management.
Also rested from Zimbabwe tour, sent young team
