In Kanpur Dehat, Section 144 has been implemented in view of Moharram, Shravan month and Kavad Yatra and upcoming festivals. To maintain peace and order, Section 144 has been implemented for all the people residing and coming within the district limits for the period from today to 30 August.

Regarding section 144 implemented in the district, Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Kanpur Dehat, Amit Kumar said that using the powers prescribed in section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with a view to maintaining public order/peace/public safety and normal life, the following prohibitory orders have been passed for all the urban and rural areas falling under it in the entire boundary of the district.

We will not gather together, nor will we take out any procession
Additional District Magistrate (Administration) said that five or more people will not gather together as a group at any public place within the district limits, nor will they take out any procession. Neither will they stage any dharna (sit-in) nor will they spread any such rumours which may have an adverse effect on peace and order. In special circumstances, it will be mandatory to obtain prior permission from the competent authority for processions etc.

Additional District Magistrate (Administration) said that no person will carry any type of weapon such as lathi, baton, knife, spear, axe, gun, rifle, revolver, pistol etc. firearms or other sharp weapons and any type of explosive material. This restriction will not apply to the kirpan traditionally worn by Sikhs and officers and employees deployed on duty.

Additional District Magistrate (Administration) said that no person/institution/organization will try to disturb communal harmony and social harmony through any program/medium. No one will use drone camera in the district without obtaining permission from the competent authority. But drought agencies will be exempted from this. No person will join a group of such people in any public place. Whose aim is to participate in any illegal activity.

The order comes into effect immediately
Additional District Magistrate (Administration) said that this order has been implemented with immediate effect. It will be effective from today till 30/08/2024. Strict action will be taken against any person violating this order or any part of it under the provisions of Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions.
