On one hand, the Uttar Pradesh government has given instructions to fulfill 13 standards for the safety of children in school vehicles. The fitness of all school buses and vans has been checked and a report has been sought by July 25. After receiving the report, the safety of children will be decided on the basis of the report.

Today, Gonda Transport Department officials checked the standards of about 100 buses and vans of many schools. Some buses do not meet the standards. Instructions have been given to meet 13 standards. The school buses and vans that do not meet the standards are being seized after inspection by the Transport Department officials. Strict instructions are also being given not to carry school children in buses and vans again.
So far, about 100 buses have been inspected
Meanwhile, Shailendra Tiwari, passenger tax officer of Gonda Transport Department, said that so far we have inspected about 100 buses. Most of the school buses are meeting their standards. There are only a few buses in which some standards are not met, some do not have medicines in the medical kit and some do not have fire extensions working.
Instructions to fix all
Instructions have been given to repair all the unfit and substandard school buses. The school administration has also been instructed to immediately stop driving them after filling the seats. Children are being brought to school in tempos or battery rickshaws.
Action is being taken against them by running continuous campaigns. If any substandard bus is found running on the road, then strict action will be taken against the bus operator as well as the school management.
