Akshay Kumar starrer film Sarfira will be released this Friday. Based on a real life story, the length of this film is 2 hours 35 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has given it a rating of 4 stars out of 5. This film is based on the life of South based businessman G.R. Gopinath. G.R. Gopinath started the first low-cost airline in the country.
His dream was that even the lowest person in the society could enjoy air travel. A film named Soorarai Pottru has already been made on this in the South. This Surya starrer film also received a National Award.
What is the story of the film?
While the story of Soorarai Pottru had a South Indian background, Sarfira has a Maharashtra background. Veer Mhatre (Akshay Kumar), born in a small village in Maharashtra, has a revolutionary mindset since childhood. He wants to do something for the oppressed and deprived in the society. With this thought in mind, he joins the Indian Air Force, but an incident happens in the meantime. Veer’s father’s health deteriorates, and he just wants to have a last look at his son.
Veer somehow manages to borrow some money from his friends and leaves the army camp. He heads to the airport to reach home quickly. However, he finds out that the airline tickets are very expensive and he has only half the money for the ticket.
He starts pleading with the airlines to let him go at any cost. He also asks for help from the people present there, but no one is moved. Ultimately Veer is not able to reach home on time and his father dies. After this incident, Veer vows to start such an airline in which people can travel by air at a low cost. Many obstacles and disturbances are created in his work.
Businessman Paresh Goswami (Paresh Rawal) who runs a top airline becomes the biggest hurdle in Veer’s path. Paresh thinks that lower class or middle class people cannot travel in planes, only the rich have the right to travel in it. Paresh adopts all the tricks to bring down Veer.
With the support of his family and friends, Veer continuously works in that direction. Now to know how Veer overcomes these difficulties and how he fulfills his dream, you will have to watch the film.
How is the acting of the star cast?
The main focus point of this film is Akshay Kumar’s acting. After a long time, Akshay Kumar has been seen making people cry on the basis of his acting. He has portrayed the emotional scenes so well on screen that your eyes may become moist. No amount of praise for Akshay is enough. Paresh Rawal has also been seen doing very natural acting in the role of an arrogant businessman. His screen presence has also been amazing.
Radhika Madan has also done a great job in the role of Veer Mhatre’s wife, Rani. Her role is of a stubborn and self-respecting woman, in which she looks absolutely perfect. All the other supporting actors have done a good job in their respective roles.
How is the direction?
Sarfira is directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, who made the original film (Soorarai Pottru). Though the trend of remake films has been going on for a long time, there are very few films which are better than their original film or even close to it. Sarfira is one of them and director Sudha Kongara Prasad should get full marks for this.
She has presented the same story in a fresh way with new characters and in a new style. She has tried to put thrill, excitement and emotion in the film and has been successful in it. There is a song in the beginning of the film which unnecessarily extends the length of the film. If this had been avoided, the length of the film could have been reduced by 10-15 minutes.
Music of the film
This is a type of film, there is not much scope for songs in it, still two-three songs have been added in the film. However, if they were added, they should have been a little better. There is not a single song that gives peace to the ears. The music is quite loud, a little more work should have been done on it.
Final Verdict, should we watch it or not?
If you have not seen the main version, then you will like this film in every way. Even if you have seen it, this film will not bore you. Since the story itself is so powerful that no matter in which language it is released, it will definitely be liked. Despite this, casting is a very important thing, we have seen many times a good story flops due to bad casting.
The specialty of this film is that Akshay Kumar has taken it to a different level with his acting. It would not be wrong to say that he has overshadowed the hero of the main version, Surya. The emotions that Akshay has brought, even Surya could not have done.
Overall, this is a must watch film, you can watch it with the whole family.
