Talent is not dependent on anyone, this is what Swati Singh, a disabled badminton player from Ameeta village of Konch tehsil of Jalaun, has done. On the basis of her game, she won two bronze medals in the badminton championship held in Uganda city of South Africa.

Let us tell you that the International Para Badminton Championship was organized in Uganda, South Africa from 1 to 7 July, in which many disabled players of the country participated, in which the players have won 3 gold and two bronze medals for the country. In this, student Ruchi Trivedi has won 3 gold and Swati Singh of Jalaun has won two bronze medals. When Swati returned to her home after winning the medal, the people of the district welcomed their daughter with great pomp. Swati said that it is a matter of great happiness to win a medal for the country.

Said- we are yet to reach our destination

People gave a warm welcome to Swati who returned from Uganda after winning the bronze medal. Swati Singh who lives in Amita village of Jalaun has brought pride to the country, district and her village by winning two bronze medals in the badminton championship competition. The villagers are looking very happy with the victory of their village’s daughter. When Swati returned to her city, she was welcomed by social workers and railway employees at the railway station. Swati said that for now the journey of victory has just begun and she is yet to reach the destination.

Struggled with financial situation, but kept the spirits intact

Swati is a player by name, but due to her disability, she made her one hand her strength and did not let her disability come in the way of her target. With this strength, she defeated her opponents.

During the conversation, she told that she is a student of Bachelor of Arts at Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow. Her father is a farmer and mother is a housewife. Due to poor financial condition, playing in big competitions was her dream. Meanwhile, she had requested for help from Jalaun DM. In which DM Rajesh Pandey and SP Jalaun Iraj Raja helped her by giving sports kit. After this, with a small campaign of social worker Ramakant Dohre, the people of the society provided financial help of about 70 thousand rupees and sent her to Uganda. With the help of people, she has won medals for the country. She will continue her winning journey in future as well.
