Firing took place between two parties due to election rivalry in Mirpur Rahimabad of Muhammadabad Gohna police station area of Mau. Kaushal Yadav alias Mantu Yadav was injured in the firing. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and immediately took the injured to the Mohammadabad Gohna Community Center.

There was electoral rivalry between Akhilesh Yadav and Kaushal Yadav regarding the district panchayat elections and the village panchayat elections. Today late at night around 8:00 pm, Kaushal Yadav alias Mantu Yadav was sitting at his election office in Mirpur Rahimabad. Then 20 to 25 people arrived and started firing over the electoral rivalry, in which Ajit Yadav alias Mantu Yadav got shot in the leg.
Upon receiving the information, Muhammadabad Gohna police station in-charge Dharmendra Kumar Singh reached the spot with his team and admitted the injured to the Mohammadabad Gohna Community Health Center through ambulance, where the doctors, seeing his critical condition, referred him to the district hospital.
The matter is being investigated
SP Mahesh Singh Atri said that as soon as the information of the incident was received, the Area Officer Dr. Ajay Vikram Singh and Kotwali in-charge Dharmendra Kumar Singh reached the spot and admitted the injured to Muhammadabad Gohna CHC. The accused Ajit Yadav resident of Saraya and a motorcycle have been recovered from the spot. Other cases are being investigated by me and the Superintendent of Police.
