The river is eroding the lower areas of the embankments, work is also being done to stop the erosion by placing boulders there. Even after the decreasing water level of the Ghaghra river, about 4000 population of 6 villages is still affected by the flood.

Today, along with 3500 lunch packets, straw was distributed to hundreds of people for the fodder of their animals. If we talk about flood affected villages, then around 4000 people from many villages including Byonda Majha, Bahadurpur, Datt Nagar, Sakhipur, Bani Majha under Tarabganj and Karnailganj areas and Aili Parsoli, Bangaon of Tarabganj tehsil area are affected by the flood. More than 50 boats have also been arranged for the people of all the flood affected villages to travel as the roads are waterlogged.

Along with this, arrangements have been made to provide food including straw for animal fodder to hundreds of people. Along with this, the district administration is also getting the animals vaccinated regularly by deploying animal husbandry department officials in the flood affected areas. If someone falls ill, the health department employees and officials posted at flood posts are also treating them immediately.

Regarding the whole matter, Additional District Magistrate Gonda Chandrashekhar said that Ghaghra, which is the main river in the district, is flowing below the danger mark. Due to the rising water level of this river, there is a high possibility of flood. The water of the river is continuously decreasing. Our villages in Colonelganj and Tarabganj tehsil area are affected by floods. The team of the Health Department, the team of the Revenue Department and the team of the Flood Block Department are constantly engaged in relief and rescue work and we are keeping a close watch on the flood.
