Electricity workers handed over a memorandum to the SP MP | Electricity workers handed over a memorandum to the SP MP: Demand for salary payment, Sanatan Pandey said – will raise the issue in Parliament – Ghazipur News
The electricity workers in Ghazipur electricity department are upset, they are protesting and staging sit-ins every day. The reason for this is non-payment of honorarium to the meter readers and electricity workers working on outsourcing. The protesting electricity workers allege that not one but three companies are working on outsourcing.

Leaflet handed over to SP MP Sanatan Pandey
Now the meter readers also gave a letter to SP MP from Ballia Lok Sabha seat Sanatan Pandey regarding the problem of their salary payment. The MP said that he would raise a question in the House regarding the problems of these employees of the electricity department.
If we look at a figure, there are 7 tehsils in Ghazipur alone. Around three hundred meter readers are doing government work through service provider companies. If we look at the total 75 districts of UP, their number will be more than 22 thousand employees. In such a situation, it is alleged that these service provider companies, in collusion with the senior officials of the department, have absconded after taking their payment by imposing huge salary arrears of employees in every district and division.
Assurance given to raise the issue in Parliament
Now the department wants to shirk the responsibility and says that the troubled and financially weak electricity workers should fight their own battle, but the public representatives and MPs are now talking about fighting the battle of these workers from the streets to the Parliament.
