1. Deepa Malik appointed APC’s South Asia representative
The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) executive meeting was held on 17 July. In this, India’s Paralympic player Deepa Malik was appointed as the representative for South Asia. Deepa is also the former president of the Indian Paralympic Committee.
After Deepa’s appointment, the number of women representatives in the executive board increased to five.

2. First Indian Jan Aushadhi Kendra opened in Mauritius
On July 17, Union External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar inaugurated the Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Mauritius. Mauritius is the first country where the Indian Jan Aushadhi Kendra has been opened. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra was started under the India-Mauritius Health Partnership Project. Through this, people will be able to get cheap Made in India medicines in Mauritius.

1. Indian Navy recruitment for 741 posts, salary up to 1 lakh 12 thousand
Indian Navy has issued a notification for recruitment to 741 posts including Fireman, MTS, Cook under Indian Naval Civilian Entrance Test. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.

Educational Qualification :

10th with ITI/Diploma in relevant field/Engineering Diploma/Graduation degree as per the post.

Age Range :

  • Minimum Age : 18 Years
  • Maximum Age : 25/ 27/ 30 Years As Per Post
  • Candidates coming from reserved category will be given relaxation as per rules.

2. IOCL released notification for recruitment of 467 posts, application starts from 22 July
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has issued a notification for recruitment to the posts of non-executive personnel. These recruitments are for different refinery and pipeline divisions. Applications for this recruitment will start from July 22. Candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website iocl.com.

Educational Qualification :

Three years Diploma in relevant field like Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Instrumentation, Diploma in Electronics.

Age Range :

18 to 26 years

1. Questions are being raised on the selection process of civil service on social media

The disability certificate of trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, who was embroiled in controversies regarding UPSC selection, has been revealed. Her training has also been stopped and the matter is being investigated.

In this certificate issued on 24 August 2022 from Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital, Pune, she was declared 7 percent disabled. According to the UPSC rules, 40 percent disability is necessary for selection from the disabled quota. Along with this, the Disability Commissioner’s Office of Pune has ordered the police to investigate the certificate submitted by Pooja Khedkar. In this certificate, Pooja had given her address wrongly.

This matter is raising many questions on the selection process of UPSC Civil Services. Also, many other civil service officers who have been appointed are being targeted on social media.

Abhishek Singh, a 2011 batch IAS officer, resigned last year to pursue an acting career. It is alleged that he got selected in the civil services on the basis of a disability certificate. However, he looks absolutely fit on social media. He also keeps sharing photos and videos related to his fitness. Apart from this, Divyanshi Singh, who cleared UPPCS and then UPSC, is accused of getting a job through the handicapped quota. On the other hand, she has also been seen playing golf.

2. Supreme Court asked NTA to re-issue NEET result

On Thursday, the Supreme Court heard the NEET case. A decision on whether the NEET UG exam will be cancelled or not could not be taken yet. The hearing lasted for 4 hours.

Meanwhile, the court directed the NTA to upload the results of all the candidates on the website by 12 noon on Saturday. The result should be centerwise and citywise. The court said, ‘The identity of the candidate should not be revealed while uploading the result. We will start the next hearing on Monday, July 22 at 10.30 am. So that we can reach a conclusion by noon. We also want a copy of the Bihar Police report.’
