Two sisters got married in the same house

Zakir, a resident of Shaheen Bagh, Delhi, has two daughters married in Meerut’s Lisadi Gate Summer Garden. The elder daughter Lado was married to the elder brother Shahzad 8 years ago. The younger daughter Aasiya was also married in the same house to Shahzad’s younger brother Rahimuddin. On Saturday, the mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law together beat the elder daughter Lado to death. Lado was two and a half months pregnant. After the murder, the in-laws fled from the house. Younger daughter Aasiya informed the police about the incident and her parents. She told the entire incident to the police.

Aasiya told that her elder sister Laado has three daughters, eldest daughter Khushi is 6 years old, Alina is 4 years old and Rumeza is 2 years old. Laado’s husband is a labourer. He stays out all day. She told that her elder sister’s husband had borrowed 10 thousand rupees from her mother-in-law Warisa for some work. Mother-in-law, younger brother-in-law Shahzad and elder sister-in-law Sana and an unmarried younger sister-in-law used to fight with us everyday regarding this money. Elder sister-in-law Sana got married a year ago. But she also used to taunt her sister and brother-in-law everyday for this money.

Asiya further said that we all live in the same house. Brother-in-law has got some work done in the upper portion of this house. He also got a separate bathroom built here. Mother-in-law used to fight over this and say that first pay me and then get this work done. Sister paid 2500 rupees to mother-in-law in advance and was constantly asking her to give the remaining money. But mother-in-law and sisters-in-law still used to beat me and my sister every day.

She said that her sister used to say that she is fed up with this fight and will now live upstairs. Her mother-in-law did not agree to this. She used to say that first give me my money, then go and live somewhere else. Aasiya said that two days ago, sister and mother-in-law had a fight over living upstairs. Then her mother-in-law, younger brother-in-law Shahzad and both the sisters-in-law together beat up her sister. They beat her with kicks and punches. After this, I intervened and pacified the matter.

The younger sister said that we both sisters did not want to trouble our family members. That is why we did not say anything. But today on Saturday when both our husbands had gone to work, the mother-in-law started quarreling again. The mother-in-law said to the sister that I do not like your voice, I do not like you. Then the sister said that you live in the house with the money I have given and you do not like me and my voice. On this, the mother-in-law, brother-in-law and both the sisters-in-law beat the sister again. They beat her by holding her hair. When I tried to intervene, they beat me too.

These people beat Laado while making her fall. Her condition deteriorated badly due to this beating. She started bleeding. When her condition worsened, we somehow took her to Johar Hospital where the doctors told us that our sister had died. On hearing that their daughter-in-law had died, the mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law fled from the spot.

In-laws absconded from the spot
After this, the younger sister called her family in Delhi and told them the whole matter. The family reached Meerut and informed the police. On receiving the information, the police of Lisadi Gate police station reached the spot. The woman’s parents also came from Delhi. The woman’s husband also came. The family created a ruckus in front of the police. They have demanded the arrest of the accused. The police have sent the body for post-mortem.

Inspector Jitendra Singh says that a case is being registered on the complaint of the family. The mother-in-law and other in-laws are absconding and are being searched for.
