The Indian women’s team has achieved its second consecutive victory in the Asia Cup. The team defeated UAE by 78 runs on Sunday.
With this win, the Indian team has made a strong claim for the semi-finals. The team has 4 points after 2 matches. India’s next match will be against Nepal on 23 July.
At the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium, the Indian team scored 201 runs for the first time with the help of half-centuries from captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh. Then, under the leadership of Deepti Sharma, the Indian bowlers restricted UAE to 123 runs in 20 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh was chosen as the Player of the Match. She played an unbeaten innings of 64 runs, then stumped the rival team’s captain Isha Ojha.
