In Fatehpur, UP, a woman started turning on the cooler when she got electrocuted and died on the spot. The woman’s brother from her maternal side, who reached the spot after getting the information, has accused her of being killed by electrocution. The police, who reached the spot after getting the information from the brother, took the body in their custody.

Manoj’s 30 year old wife Anju Devi, a resident of Purbi Naya Basti of Radha Nagar police station area of the district, started turning on the cooler in the morning when the woman got stuck to the cooler due to electric current and died on the spot. When the woman’s seven year old daughter Khushi saw this, she shouted. Hearing the screams, the family members removed the wire from the cooler.
After the woman’s death, the body was sent for postmortem.
Brother said- in-laws used to harass me
On receiving the information, Arvind Kumar from the maternal side reached there and alleged that my sister Anju Devi was married to Manoj on 21 November 2011. After the marriage, my sister’s in-laws used to harass her on one pretext or the other. My brother-in-law has been working in Surat for the last two months.
Only mother-in-law, sister-in-law and niece Khushi lived at home. In the morning, the niece called and told me that her mother had died and there had been a fight going on at home for the past three days.

The brother alleged that my sister was killed by electrocution because the sister was asking for property division at home. In the case, the police station in-charge said that the woman’s body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem and further action will be taken after the postmortem report comes.
