On the occasion of Guru Purnima festival on Sunday, devotees are taking a holy dip in the holy river Ganga. After giving charity, they are paying their obeisance at the court of Shri Kashi Vishwanath. From the point of view of security, the police force is also seen alert at the Ganga Ghat.

Devotees started arriving at the ghats barefoot in the morning to take a bath in the Ganga. Crowds of devotees are seen at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Sheetla Ghat, Ahilyabai Ghat, Panchganga Ghat, Assi Ghat for bathing. Due to the crowd of devotees at Dashashwamedh Ghat, a fair-like scene is being seen.

Barricading has been done on the ghats

Many arrangements have been made for the safety of devotees in Ganga. Due to the rising water level of Ganga, barricading has been done on major ghats. Apart from this, water police and divers have also been alerted. Everyone is being instructed by the water police to bathe only inside the barricading.

The special importance of donating yellow items to the needy

Pandit Balram Mishra said that according to religious beliefs, by taking bath, giving charity and worshipping Guru on this day, all the spoiled works are made good and happiness, peace and prosperity is attained in the house. To get rid of Guru Dosh, Guru Yantra should also be installed in the house on Guru Purnima. Yellow items should be donated to the needy. This also strengthens the Guru.
