Sri Lanka has achieved its biggest victory in T20 cricket. The team defeated Malaysia by a huge margin of 144 runs in the Women’s Asia Cup. Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu scored a century of 119 runs. She became the first batsman to score a century in this tournament.
In this match played on Monday in Dambulla, the Sri Lankan team won the toss and chose to bat. The team scored 184 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs with the help of captain Chamari Atapattu’s century. Then Malaysia was all out for 40 runs in 19.5 overs. Chamari Atapattu was chosen as the Player of the Match.

Atapattu’s best innings gave Sri Lanka a target of 185 runs
The Sri Lankan team, which came out to bat after winning the toss, did not have a good start. The team lost the first wicket at a score of 5 runs. The first blow came in the form of Vishmi Gunaratne (1) in the second over of the innings. In such a situation, captain Atapattu batted cautiously with Harshitha Samarawickrama and added 64 runs for the second wicket. In the 10th over, Mahira Izzati Ismail broke this partnership by dismissing Harshitha Samarawickrama (26).
After the dismissal of Harshita (26 runs), captain Atapattu shared a 115-run partnership for the third wicket with Anushka Sanjivani. This is the biggest partnership for the third wicket by a Sri Lankan team. Anushka Sanjivani scored 31 runs in 24 balls. Winifred Duraisingam took 2 wickets for Malaysia. Soubika Manivannan and Mahira Izzati Ismail dismissed one batsman each.
Captain Atapattu played an unbeaten innings of 119 runs. He also made a record partnership with Anushka Sanjeevani.
No Malaysian batsman could score more than 10 runs
The Malaysian team, chasing a target of 185 runs, fell down in front of Sri Lanka’s bowling. The team could score just 40 runs after losing all wickets in 19.5 overs. In this too, 6 runs came from extras.
The situation was such that no batsman from Malaysia could score more than 10 runs.
