In Sultanpur, the electricity system has deteriorated so much during the Lok Sabha elections that there is chaos everywhere, be it the city or the village. Despite the government’s instructions, they are unable to provide better supply. On Monday, the SP Chhatra Sabha protested at the Collectorate on this issue.

Today, the people of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha staged a sit-in protest in front of the Collectorate over the problem of continuous power cuts and submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the District Magistrate. Today, under the leadership of District President Ram Prakash Maurya, more than a dozen people demonstrated at the Collectorate gate against power cuts.

Power cuts disturb students and farmers

The protesters said that LLB exams are going on. In such a situation, the electricity department is cutting the power for hours continuously. Due to which students face problems in studying. Farmers are not able to plant paddy. Water is not reaching the farmers’ fields due to power cuts.

Due to which paddy cultivation will suffer a lot. People of the student assembly said that patients admitted in hospitals are suffering due to power cuts for many hours in the scorching heat but the electricity department has nothing to do with it.

All of them were present in the demonstration

A memorandum was sent to His Excellency the Governor through the District Magistrate under the leadership of the District President of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha regarding the demands. Osama Khan, Mohd. Sufiyan, Mohd. Sahil, Belal Khan, Ravi Tiwari, Sachin, Abhishek, Sunil Dhuria, Mohammad Irfan etc. were present in the demonstration.
