Sri Lanka team announced against India: Charith Aslanka will captain the T20 series, first match on July 27

Charith Asalanka has been made the new captain of Sri Lanka’s T20 team.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board on Tuesday announced a 16-member T20 team for India’s tour of Sri Lanka. The command of T20 has been handed over to Charith Aslanka. Former captain Wanindu Hasaranga left the captaincy due to poor performance in the recently held T20 World Cup. On July 18, BCCI announced the Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour.

Team India will play a series of 3 T20 matches in Sri Lanka. The first match will be played in Pallekele on 27th July at 7:00 pm. The ODI series will start from 2nd August in Colombo.

The Indian team last visited Sri Lanka in 2021. The team played a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. India won the three-match ODI series 2-1. India had to face defeat 2-1 in the T20 series.

Charith Aslanka becomes the new captain
After Wanindu Hasaranga left the captaincy on July 11, Charith Aslanka has been made the new captain of Sri Lanka’s T20 team. Sri Lanka captained in 2 matches against Bangladesh this year. In which they won 1 and lost 1. The captaincy of ODI is already with Kusal Mendis. At the same time, the command of the Test is in the hands of Dhananjay de Silva.
