Due to lack of rain in Amethi, the farmers are getting restless. Farmers are now trying to please Lord Indra with the help of old traditions. Children in the village are playing Kaal Kaloti and requesting Lord Indra for rain. It is believed that playing Kaal Kaloti in water helps in healing the pain of Lord Indra.

There has not been a single good rain in Amethi in the last one month. Due to lack of rain, the paddy crop in the fields is in danger. Due to this, the crop is drying up. Farmers have started crying out in distress due to the fear of drought.
The farmers who have their own resources are trying to save their crops in some way but are worried due to the cost of irrigation. Nature’s fury has been continuing on the farmers of Amethi for the last several seasons. Due to this, the farmers are facing financial problems. The intense rays of the Sun are scorching the fields as well as the body.
Children are rolling on the ground in front of their houses to please Lord Indra.
Farmers are worried seeing the paddy crop drying up
To save the drying paddy crop, Kaal-Kalauti is being played in the village. Groups of men are going from village to village along with groups of children. These groups reach the doors of the villagers. Here the head of the household pours a bucket of water on the scorching ground.
After which the group of children roll in the water that has fallen on the ground and then looking towards the sky the children sing- Daiva Raja Barsau, Garri Ma Sarsaun. Gur Bhauri Pet Ma, Pani Barsaai Khet Ma, Kaal Kaloti, Peeli Dhoti, Megha Re Pani De. This game is repeated in front of every house door one by one.
