A retired soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed revolver at Manohar Dham Colony of Gram Panchayat Etora situated on Agra-Gwalior Road in Thana Malpura area of Tajnagri Agra at around 12:00 in the night. Malpura police station reached the spot and handed over the body to the Panchayat Election Commission.

According to the information received, a loud sound of gunshot was heard from the house of retired Naik Dhirendra Bahadur Fauji, who lives in Manohar Dham Colony of Gram Panchayat Itora on Agra-Gwalior Road, at around 12:30 in the night. When the retired soldier’s wife and daughter reached his room, they saw that the retired soldier was lying on the bed. Seeing this, the family screamed. This family is from Nagina village of Kanpur countryside.
The deceased’s father-in-law Mahipat, who lives in the neighbourhood, has said that perhaps his rifle was loaded, which suddenly went off. Due to which he got shot in the skull.
Information was given to the police control room. On receiving the information, the police force of Malpura police station reached the spot. Retired soldier Dhirendra Bahadur was taken to SN Medical College for treatment. Where doctors declared him dead. ACP Saiya Devesh Singh, who reached the spot, said that prima facie the case seems to be a suicide, the police is investigating the entire matter.
