The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Pallekele today. Team India has reached Sri Lanka under the leadership of new coach Gautam Gambhir for the Sri Lanka tour. Team India will play 3-3 match T20 and ODI series in this tour which will run from 27 July to 7 August.
With this, after the retirement of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, Team India’s Mission 2026 will begin under the leadership of new captain Suryakumar Yadav.

Immediately after winning the T20 World Cup, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli said goodbye to this format. A day later, Ravindra Jadeja also retired from this format of cricket. In such a situation, this is the first big tour of Team India after the departure of 3 legendary players. Earlier, the team went to Zimbabwe under the captaincy of Shubman Gill where it was successful in winning the 5 match series by 4-1.

The Indian team last visited Sri Lanka in 2021. The team played a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. The three-match ODI series was won 2-1. India had to face defeat 2-1 in the T20 series.
