The DM asked to purify the Ganga and emphasize on cleanliness before the Maha Kumbh.

Fix the work of STP and CETP
The DM instructed Amit Mishra, the regional officer of the Pollution Control Board, to keep inspecting and repairing all STPs and CETPs. The District Panchayat Raj Officer will survey the ponds identified for water conservation in 40 Ganga villages of Kanpur and get them renovated.

Cleanliness system should be strengthened on the Ghats
Special emphasis will be laid on cleanliness in the villages and ghats situated on the banks of Ganga. Along with cleanliness, big dustbins will be placed here. Natural farming will also be promoted. Ganga Aarti will be organized daily at Atal Ghat on the lines of Rishikesh. For this, 5 selected members will also be given training.
Dispose of legacy waste quickly
The DM said that the project manager of the municipal corporation will ensure that there will be no disposal of garbage and polythene within 500 meters of the catchment area of the river Ganga.
Bio remediation should be done properly on all untapped drains. The Municipal Commissioner was instructed to dispose of 7.5 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste dumped in Panki soon.
