Once again a honey badger was found in Gorakhpur. The forest department team has rescued a honey badger from Gemini Gardenia Society located in Taramandal area. The forest department has rescued honey badger twice before this. The society is continuously getting information about the badger.

It is believed that the badger had strayed from the nearby 150-acre city forest area and had entered the residential area of the society.
The badger was rescued from the society for the third time
This is the third time that forest department employees have come to rescue the badger from this society. The increase in such incidents in the last few years is a symbol of increasing conflict between wildlife and human population. DFO Vikas Yadav said that after the rescue, the badger was released in a safe environment. Earlier, in 2022 also, a badger was rescued from the gym area of the society.
He entered the kitchen by cutting the window net
Dr. Anita Agarwal, Vice President of Gemini Gardenia Society Planetarium and Patron of Heritage Foundation, gave detailed information about this incident. She told that an officer of Torrent Gas lives on the 13th floor. The mongoose entered his kitchen by cutting the net. When the officer saw the mongoose in the kitchen, he wisely closed the door from outside and immediately informed the secretary of the society. The secretary of the society contacted the forest department, and DFO Vikas Yadav sent a team of three employees to the spot.
Rescued and released in a safe environment
The forest department team reached the spot at around 9:15 am and the badger was rescued by around 10 am. The skilled and trained staff of the team carefully caught the badger and took it to a safe environment for release. During this, the people of the society appreciated the efforts of the team and thanked them.
Characteristics of Honey Badger
DFO Vikas Yadav said that Honey Badger, also known as Brajju, is a carnivorous and shy mammalian animal. This animal usually avoids human contact, but when it comes into the population for some reason, it can harm anyone when it gets angry. Brajju can be dangerous due to its fast speed, strong jaws and sharp nails. This creature mainly hunts small animals, birds and insects and can wander long distances in search of its food.
