The last and third match of the three match test series between England and West Indies was played at Edgbaston. England won the third match by 10 wickets. With this, the English team won the series 3-0. Host England had already won the series by winning 2 consecutive test matches. Now by winning the third test, England has given a clean sweep to West Indies.
England won the first match by 114 runs and the second by 241 runs. The team’s fast bowler Gus Atkinson took 22 wickets in the series. He was chosen as the Player of the Series. While Mark Wood, who took 7 wickets in the match, received the Player of the Match award.

West Indies scored 282 runs in the first innings
West Indies captain Craig Braithwaite won the toss in the third Test and decided to bat first. Windies scored 282 runs in the first innings. Captain Braithwaite scored the highest 61 runs for the team. Jason Holder scored 59, Joshua De Silva scored 49 runs. Gus Atkinson took the highest 4 wickets for England. Apart from him, Chris Woakes took 3, Mark Wood took 2 and Shoaib Bashir took 1 wicket.
Jamie Smith scored 95 runs in the first innings for England
In reply to West Indies’ 282 runs, England scored 376 runs. Jamie Smith scored the highest 95 runs for England. Joe Root played a brilliant innings of 87 runs. Chris Woakes also played an innings of 62 runs. Captain Ben Stokes scored 54 runs. Alzari Joseph took the highest 4 wickets for West Indies. Jaden Seals took 3, Shamar Joseph took 1 and Jaden Seals took 1.
2 and Gudakesh Moti got 1 wicket.
Windies all out for 175 in second innings
In the second innings, West Indies could not reach a score of 200. The team was all out at a score of 175 runs. Mark Wood took 5 wickets for England. Due to England’s lead of 92 runs in the first innings, West Indies could give a target of only 87 runs to England. In the second innings for West Indies, Michael Lewis scored 57 runs and Kavem Hodge scored 55 runs.
