About three feet of water is flowing at a rapid pace on the Rapta bridge in front of Srinagar. Many low-lying areas are submerged. Khagaipurwa has become an island; about 20 families of Khagaipurwa are staying under tarpaulin on the embankment. Many villages, including Mehndi, Bahalipurwa Randauha, Baragaon, Bhulbhulia, Chaklua, Langdipur, Khambi, Bholapurwa and Basaha, are surrounded by water. In the first flood itself, people are escaping by boat as the bridge in front of Srinagar and the Rapta bridge ahead of it have been cut off.

Sub-district magistrate Sadar Ashwani Singh said that about 1 feet of water is flowing on the Rapta bridge in front of Srinagar. Sometimes a little more work gets done. There is no information about any water being released from behind, yet the revenue teams are constantly engaged in monitoring.
