,
Appeared in many famous shows like Comedy Night with Kapil Sharma, Great Indian Laughter Challenge with standup comedian Rajeev Thakur Daily newspaper The team talked. Do you know what they said?
Comedian Rajiv Thakur said that people of Uttar Pradesh have the best humour.
Question- How did you come to Lucknow? How do you feel after coming here?
answer- It feels great to come here. UP and Punjab are similar. People here have a great sense of humour. People start laughing at half the joke. It means they understand what is going to happen next. I have a lot of memories from here because of Raju Srivastava.
Question- How has been the experience with Raju Srivastava?
answer- Raju bhai was a very wonderful person. He used to practice by placing mirrors all around his house. He was a person who had the ability to perform for 3 hours continuously. His spontaneity was visible in his comedy.
His passing away has caused us great pain. My new house is opposite his house. I spoke to him a week before his death. The time I spent with him was a wonderful experience.
Question- Now people have started making reels of comedians’ punches. In such a situation, how challenging has the work become?
answer- There is a lot of work, this cannot be denied. However, this also shows the popularity. Comedy is very difficult to make. It is not a song that lasts for a long time.
Rajiv Thakur, who reached Lucknow, remembered the moments spent with comedian Raju Srivastava.
Question- Kapil Sharma, Chandan Prabhakar and you travelled together. How was your journey from Amritsar to Mumbai?
answer- When you are in the same business, even the best of friends become enemies because a sense of competition enters the work. People stop supporting each other. Our friendship is continuing till date. From this you can understand how beautiful our journey is. Two very good friends get separated after coming to Mumbai, but this did not happen with us.
Question: Is there any comedian in front of whom you felt nervous?
answer- I became nervous in front of Pakistan’s star comedian Umar Sharif. He was sitting as a judge in the finals of Laughter Challenge. He was a big name. It was not even known what kind of work he liked.
I had worked a lot in front of Shekhar Suman and Navjot Singh Siddhu, but I did not know anything about them. I got nervous. However, I never get nervous because I do good work. I am the best attitude. This is the reason why I was able to work with top people for 18 years.
Question: What would you like to say about Open Mic Lecture?
answer- The open mics are youngster comedians, while we are family comedians. For them, abusive language has become a common language. We cannot use such words in front of our parents or friends.
I consider it the cheapest way to make people laugh. Some people may do this, but those who believe in their talent focus on good content. When Emraan Hashmi came, there was talk of obscenity. Now people talk like this about OTT. If the audience stops watching, then people will automatically stop making such content.
Comedian Rajeev Thakur said that in open mic, young comedians make people laugh by using vulgar words. This is the cheapest means of humour.
Question- How difficult is it to make comedy?
answer- It is not easy to make comedy. We travel a lot, which is also beneficial. We get characters from the crowd. For example, I am talking to journalists in a different way right now. If I go home and think, I may find funny answers to these questions. Whenever I go somewhere, I pay attention to everything, and I get humor from that.
Rajiv Thakur spoke openly
Standup comedian Rajeev Thakur, who spreads smiles on stage with his punches, has all the arrows in his quiver. He considers the use of obscene words used in open mics to be the cheapest way to make people laugh.
