A South Indian woman’s gold chain was stolen by pickpockets inside the Durga Temple in Bhelupur police station area of ​​Varanasi. After the chain was stolen, the woman complained to the nearby Durgakund police post. Locals say that this person took advantage of the crowd and stole it.

Taking advantage of the crowd, thieves stole the chain

On Tuesday morning, a South Indian woman who had come to Durga temple in Durgakund for worship, had her chain snatched by some snatchers who pushed her in the crowd. After the worship, the woman saw that the chain was missing from her neck and she went to Durgakund police outpost and informed them about it. The policemen who came from the outpost with the woman checked the CCTV cameras installed in the temple but due to the crowd in the temple, they could not see anything in the temple.

Police is investigating the matter

The victim woman whose chain was missing said that while she was offering prayers in the temple, someone pushed her from behind and snatched the chain from her neck. She said that the missing chain is worth about two lakh rupees. Due to the absence of policemen and security guards in Durgakund temple, the chains, purses and mobiles of the visitors keep disappearing every day. Bhelupur SHO said that a team has been deployed on the basis of the woman’s complaint. Action will be taken against the pickpockets. The duty of policemen will be increased.
