In Varanasi, Chief Development Officer Himanshu Nagpal inspected several departments of Vikas Bhavan. The CDO who came to check the attendance of employees and the quality of work found a different scene. The key employees of all the departments were not present at their desks.

Many employees of the offices of District Panchayat Raj Officer, Rural Engineering Department, Cooperatives, Minor Irrigation and Additional District Development Officer Social Welfare were found missing from their chairs. The employees did not come to the office despite office hours, on which the CDO expressed displeasure.

During the inspection, the CDO found 15 employees missing, notices have been issued to them, withholding their salary. All of them have been asked to give their reply within three days, asking them the reason for not coming to the office on time. After the inspection, there was chaos in other offices of Vikas Bhawan.

CDO Himanshu Nagpal conducted a surprise inspection of the departments of Vikas Bhawan. During this, a total of eight employees including Assistant Engineers of Rural Engineering Department Shekhar Sharan, Mayank Chaudhary, Pragya Parmita were found absent.

After this, when CDO reached Panchayati Raj Department, Nityanand, Abhishek Kumar Singh DC, Raghavendra DPM were also absent from their desks. Cooperative Department’s Office Assistants Tasleem Fatima, Vijayalakshmi, Vikas Kumar, Kanhaiyalal also did not come to the office till 10.30 am. Assistant Engineer Praveen Gautam of Minor Irrigation Department, Office Assistant Pradeep Kumar Singh and Social Welfare’s Office Assistants Pawan Kumar, Shyam Bihari, Rajesh Kumar were also found absent from the office.

Explanation sought by issuing notice

The Chief Development Officer withheld one day’s salary of all the officers/employees and directed them to submit an explanation within three days. Apart from this, he expressed displeasure when the records were not maintained properly by the desk assistants in the Minor Irrigation Department, Animal Husbandry Department, RES, Cooperative Departments. He also expressed displeasure and warned them when the cleanliness was found to be very poor. He directed them to organize the maintenance of records and to clean them regularly.
