The Varanasi District and Sessions Court sentenced two accused in the case of luring and kidnapping a minor girl. The court of Special Judge (POCSO Act II) Anubhav Dwivedi found the accused Pradeep Yadav guilty on the basis of evidence and witnesses.

The judge sentenced the main accused to eight years of rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing a fine of 20 thousand rupees. In the case of helping in the elopement of the minor, accused Vinod Yadav was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of five thousand rupees.
The prosecution lawyer told the court that the plaintiff Rajkumari (name changed), a resident of a village in the Phulpur police station area, had lodged an FIR in the Phulpur police station. It was alleged that on May 13, 2016, Pradeep Yadav of the village had kidnapped her 17-year-old minor daughter.
He and his friend Vinod Yadav hid the girl somewhere and despite a lot of searching, the family could not find her. On the complaint of the plaintiff, Phulpur police registered a case and started investigation.
During the investigation, the police arrested the accused Pradeep Yadav from Phoolpur market on 11 July 2016, recovered the victim from his custody and sent him to jail. Later, his accomplice was also arrested by the police.
In this case, the police filed a chargesheet against both the accused in the court. The court convicted both the accused during the trial and sentenced them. The plaintiff’s advocates Anuj Yadav, Naresh Yadav and special public prosecutor Santosh Kumar Singh presented their case on behalf of the prosecution in the court.
