On 27th July, a bike-borne miscreant snatched the gold chain of Nigam Rai, a resident of Vishwanathpuri Colony in Nasirpur area, by snatching it from her neck. Laborer Deepak Kumar Jaiswal died of electric shock in the basement of a complex at Rathyatra Square in Varanasi. Deepak Kumar Jaiswal, a resident of Maheshpur Manduadih, had come to the complex to do putty work. Locals say that the basement was filled with water. The Meerut court will pronounce its verdict in the famous Guddi Bazaar triple murder case today, i.e. on Wednesday. This incident happened 16 years ago. On 23 May 2008, the bodies of three youths were found on the banks of Balaini river on the border of Baghpat and Meerut districts. The deceased were identified as Sunil Dhaka (27), resident of Jagriti Vihar Meerut, Puneet Giri (22), resident of Parikshitgarh Road Meerut and Sudhir Ujjwal (23), resident of village Sirsali, Baghpat.
