Seat left after admission
Admissions are being done in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) from June 11. Admissions are being done in PG classes in the university and its affiliated campuses. At the same time, the number of students dropping out of classes after admission is also increasing. After five rounds of counseling, 1500 seats are still vacant. While the university administration had conducted counseling again to fill the 1200 vacant seats. But the Central Admission Committee is unable to give the exact figure.

Admission was to be done on 8500 seats
Professor Rajesh Kumar, member of BHU’s Central Admission Committee, said that the admission process for 8500 seats in PG courses in four colleges affiliated to BHU has been going on since June 11. After online seat allocation on Samarth dashboard and verification of documents and other processes, 1200 seats became vacant. But after the fifth round, only 1500 seats are vacant now.

In the pursuit of professionalism, one distances oneself from the regulars
On the lack of admission in PG courses, BHU officials said that counselling for professional courses is also going on in BHU. In such a situation, students who take admission in regular courses are leaving their seats after getting admission in professional courses after counselling. Students are more attracted to performing arts, music, textile management courses instead of regular courses and are going there because of employment opportunities.
