The story began with Radha, a poor but kind girl who always obeyed her parents. After marriage, she also helped others at her in-laws’ place, where her husband somehow managed to make a living by doing hard labour. One day, there was a shortage of food in the house. That day, the village goddess disguised herself as an old woman and knocked at Radha’s door. Despite the problems, Radha gave food to the old woman. Pleased with Radha’s generosity, the village goddess blessed her with happiness and prosperity and gave her a magical frying pan in which any dish of her choice could be cooked. This story taught children that even in adverse circumstances, one should help others as much as possible.
