A 25-day-old human skeleton was found in a paddy field near a pond near Pathandiha village in Khodare police station area of Gonda. People who went to trim the weeds in the paddy field saw the skeleton and immediately informed the Khodare police.

The police reached the spot and took the skeleton in their custody and started further investigation. The black coloured salwar found with the skeleton is suspected to be that of a girl. The police interrogated the people living nearby, but the skeleton has not been identified yet.
Villagers say that due to recent rains, the pond and fields were filled with excess water. In such a situation, it is being speculated that the dead body may have come here floating in the water. Khodare police station chief Sarvjeet Gupta said that the Panchnama of the skeleton is being filled and sent for postmortem, so that the truth of the matter can be revealed.
