After this defeat, Nikhat is very broken and she has told that she did not eat anything for two days before the match, did not even drink water. The biggest reason for this was that Nikhat had to maintain her weight.

This time there was no 52kg event in the boxing event in Paris Olympics. Due to which Nikhat had to fight in 50kg. So she did not eat for 2 days to keep her weight constant. Nikhat has been boxing in the 52kg category in every Olympics. This was the first time she had to box in the 50kg weight category.

Nikhat had to face defeat at the hands of China’s Wu Yu in the pre-quarterfinals of 50kg. Nikhat could not stand up to Wu Yu’s speed. She definitely tried to make a comeback in the second round but victory was not in her destiny.

After the match, Nikhat said that she regrets that she could not win a medal for the country. While talking to the media after the match, Nikhat asked for water from her coach and drank it. After this, she started talking and said, “I am sorry friends, I could not win a medal for the country. I made a lot of sacrifices to reach here. I worked very hard mentally and physically.”

Nikhat said, “I haven’t eaten anything for the last two days. I had to maintain my weight. I didn’t even drink water. I drank some water after the weigh-in, but I didn’t get time to recover. I was the first one to enter the ring today.”

Nikhat further said, “If I had won today, my efforts would have been appreciated, but now everyone will consider these things as excuses.”

I would like to go on a solo trip
Nikhat said that she would now like to go on a solo trip. She said, “I would now like to go on a solo trip on vacation. I have never done this. It is much needed. I would like to spend time with my nieces and nephews. I will come back strongly.”
