Progressive farmer Sunil Verma said that his father started the work of vermicompost fertilizer in 2008 after taking training from the Agriculture Department. He also got some grants in this. His father wanted that there should be minimum use of chemicals and pesticides and natural farming should be done.
Sunil studied law in 2020 and started practicing law in the High Court, but he thought that it would be better to do his own business than to practice law. This is a beneficial work, so he decided to do natural farming by making Jeeva Amrit, Ghan Jeeva Amrit, Vermi Compost etc. under natural farming.
Sunil Verma says that he is earning double profit from this. The fertilizer he makes is in great demand, due to which he earns a profit of 10 to 15 lakh rupees in a year. Apart from this, he also cultivates fruits and vegetables in about 2 acres.
You can start a vermicompost business with a cost of Rs 50,000. Apart from this, the government also gives subsidy on it. The biggest expense in this is on earthworms, because earthworms are available for about one thousand rupees per kg. But the special thing is that earthworms grow very fast and double in about three months. Apart from earthworms, you will also have to buy cow dung, plastic sheet and paddy straw. Since these things are not very expensive, you will not have to spend much on them.
