,

The employees say that the order of termination of service of all the employees should be withdrawn immediately. If the management does not withdraw this decision, then the indefinite strike will be intensified and agitation will be carried out in the campus, the responsibility of which will be of the Vice Chancellor and higher officials of AMU.

Services of 15 employees have been terminated

About 2500 employees work as daily wage earners in Aligarh Muslim University. Last year, due to lack of budget and non-receipt of budget from the centre, their contract was not extended, after which there was a fierce agitation and then their service was extended.

A panel of 3 people including the Finance Controller of AMU had met the Education Minister in this matter and took a decision for the employees, after which the service of the employees was extended by 6 months. But 3 days ago the university terminated the service of 15 daily wage earners working in MMTTC UGC.

Management accused of being dictatorial

The protest started after the service of the employees was terminated. Along with this, the university administration was instructed to withdraw the orders of termination of service of the employees within 72 hours, but the administration has not withdrawn this order. After which the hunger strike has started.

AMU Employees Union leader Mohammad Afaq alias Affu Khan said that currently there are about 85 lakh rupees deposited in the university budget. From which daily wage earners can be paid, even after this the management has adopted a dictatorial attitude and terminated the services of the employees, which is completely wrong. All the employees of the university will fight together against this order.

48 hours ultimatum given

Along with starting the indefinite strike, the employees have now given the management an ultimatum of 48 hours and asked them to withdraw these orders. After which, they have said that they will start a hunger strike and violent protests.

On the other hand, AMU Proctor Prof. Wasim Ali says that the AMU committee is considering the demands of the employees. A decision will be taken soon in this matter and the decision will be in the interest of the employees.
