The police are still empty handed in the case of robbery of a pickup rider in Lucknow’s PGI police station area last Friday. On Saturday, DCP East Shashank Singh said that investigation is going on, CCTV footage is being checked, the robbers will be arrested soon.

Police said that more than three dozen CCTV footages have been scanned from Raebareli Road and its surrounding areas. If sources are to be believed, some miscreants have been captured in the CCTV footage, the case will be solved soon, so far several suspects are being questioned.

Krishna Kant Srivastava, resident of Thakuran Tola, Tambaur police station, Sitapur district, works as a clerk in Hindustan Plywood Industries. On August 1, he went from his industry in a pickup UP34CT2491 along with driver Wasim and helper Altaf Alam to Jasra, Prayagraj, with a load of ply.

Kesharwani Enterprises, Jasra Bazaar, after dropping him at the shop, received Rs. 185200 from him and kept it in the car and was returning last Thursday. He had just reached the Outer Ring Road of PGI Police Station area when a motorcycle R15 coming from behind overtook his car and stopped it and told him that they were from the Finance Department and his vehicle’s installment was due. Meanwhile two more persons came in a Splendor car, meanwhile one more person came on a scooter, out of a total of four persons, one person pulled him down, meanwhile a person holding a country-made pistol struck Wasim on his face with the butt, due to which he got injured on his face.
