On the occasion of the closing of Phool Bangla festival and Hariyali Amavasya, a huge crowd of devotees gathered to have darshan of Lord Banke Bihari Ji
The devotees will now be able to see the divine and attractive beauty of Thakur Banke Bihari Lal, the idol of the masses, seated in the Phool Bangla decorated with indigenous and foreign flowers in the summer of 2025. The full bungalow service, which will run for 108 days in summer, will conclude on 4th August i.e. Sunday with Shayan Aarti.

Due to Sunday, Hariyali Amavasya and the month of Sawan, the streets of Vrindavan were crowded with devotees. The maximum crowd was on the way to Banke Bihari temple. The streets, main road and temple leading to Banke Bihari temple were full of devotees. Devotees were eager to get a glimpse of their idol.

The tradition of serving Thakur Banke Bihari, the son of Sangeet Shiromani Swami Haridas ji, is the most unique. In order to provide coolness to the beloved Kanhaiya in summer, the sevayats seat him in a bungalow or hut decorated with various types of flowers. Actually, the tradition of seating Thakur ji in a hut decorated with flowers is more than four hundred and fifty years old. But with time, changes have come in it.

Earlier, Goswamis of Swami Haridas ji’s lineage used to decorate it with banana leaves, Rai Bel, rose, oleander, jasmine and green leaves. But now foreign flowers are also being used in making Phool Bangla. Due to which its cost also goes up to ten to fifteen lakhs. The process of decorating Phool Bangla in Thakur Banke Bihari temple, which started on Kamada Ekadashi of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, will end with the Shayan Aarti of Hariyali Amavasya on Sunday, August 4.

Starting from Kamada Ekadashi, these Phool Bangla are decorated till Hariyali Amavasya. But in between, on one day, Akshaya Tritiya, Phool Bangla is not decorated. In such a season, a total of 216 Phool Bangla are served by the devotees in 108 days. This year, Phool Bangla will be decorated till 4th August. On the last day, the number of devotees increased to get a glimpse of their idol decorated in a flower basket.
