An incident that challenges the anti-Romeo squad has come to light in Shahjahanpur. Here four miscreants have molested an intermediate student on the road. The accused often followed her while returning home from coaching. When her father followed them, they caught hold of a police officer.

The father gave a written complaint in the police station and told that the incident of molestation had happened earlier also. No action was taken even after giving the application. At present, the police have arrested four accused, out of which one accused is a minor. The police has started further action.
A resident of a locality in Chowk Kotwali area submitted an application in the police station stating that his minor daughter is an intermediate student. She was returning home on a bicycle after attending coaching on August 2. Four youths including Faijan, Asim and Aman, residents of the area, used to follow her every day and molest her and do obscene acts. When the victim’s father chased the miscreants, all of them started running away. One accused was caught on the spot, but he escaped by breaking free.
Police arrested all four accused
The victim’s father had demanded action against the accused. Earlier also, despite giving an application, no action was taken. This time the police has registered an FIR and arrested all four accused, out of which one accused is a minor. CO City Saumya Pandey said that after receiving the complaint of molestation, an FIR has been registered against the accused under serious sections including the POCSO Act and all four accused have been arrested. Further action is being taken against all four.
