The rates of thyroid and viral marker tests have been reduced in Sir Sundarlal Hospital of BHU. Thyroid profile test will cost Rs 150 less while viral marker test will cost Rs 680 less. The management has taken this decision keeping in mind the increasing number of samples.

Now viral marker test will be done for Rs 450
The money is being charged as per the revised rates. The maximum samples in CCI lab are related to these tests. Till now, around Rs. 400 are charged for thyroid test, but now the report will be available for Rs. 250. Rs. 1130 had to be spent for viral marker test, but now the facility will be available for Rs. 450. In private hospitals, these important tests are two to three times more expensive. Viral marker test is very important before surgery so that the life of the patient is not endangered during surgery.
Medical Superintendent Prof. Kailash Kumar said that the rates of some tests have come down and new tests are also being started because for these tests patients had to wander inside or outside the hospital, now this facility is being started.
These new investigations will begin
IPTH (parathyroid hormone), tTG (tissue transglutaminase), complement component 3, complement C-4, ADA (adenosine deaminase enzyme), G-6PDH (phosphate dehydrogenase), gamma interferon, IL-6 (interleukin i.e. inflammation), TNF alpha (tumor necrosis factor), homocysteine (homocysteine amino acid), AMH (anti-mullerian hormone), estriol and inhibin A.
