An employee of the Varanasi Municipal Corporation Revenue Department has been suspended with immediate effect by Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma on charges of fraud and embezzlement. It is being told that after cutting a slip through the M Pass device, Bablu Kumar used to get a photocopy of the same receipt and give the same receipt to other auto drivers, and instead of depositing the collected amount in the municipal corporation fund, he used to keep it with himself by committing fraud.
This big irregularity was found during a surprise inspection by Assistant Municipal Commissioner Anil Yadav, and at the time of inspection the employee was also in a state of intoxication. Anil Yadav took immediate departmental action and brought the matter to the notice of Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma, on which the Municipal Commissioner immediately suspended Bablu.
