In Basti’s Kudraha block, the Saryu river is in its fierce form in Maypur Barka Purva and Madarhwa. Due to which panic has spread among the villagers. The erosion of the river is increasing rapidly. Due to which life has become unstable in the villages situated on the banks of the river. Fields and trees are getting submerged in the river.

Villagers appealed to the administration for help
The villagers say that they have appealed to the government and administration for help many times. But no attention was paid to their problems. If attention had been paid on time, the situation would not have been so serious.
On Sunday, the process of river erosion intensified. Due to which the crisis in Madarhwa and other Purvas has increased. So far, due to river erosion, two bamboo huts of Ram Shabd, Neem and Peepal tree planted near Chakrod have been submerged in the river stream. Farmers’ crops and fertile land are in danger.
The fertile land continuously merges into the Saryu river
Farmers say that whenever there is a flood, their crops and land are destroyed. Now the river has come close to the village and is flowing near the culvert built on the Chak Road in front of Ram Bhavan Paswan’s house. Villagers say that their fertile land is continuously merging into the Saryu River. An immediate solution to this situation is needed.
A video of the erosion of the Saryu river is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video, fields and trees can be clearly seen getting submerged in the river. The villagers are helplessly watching with their own eyes the scene of their fields getting submerged in the river, which is extremely painful to watch.
