ADCP Crime Manish Sonkar said that all the four cyber criminals caught by the police are residents of Jamtara, Jharkhand. These scoundrels had details of the mobile numbers of gas connection holders and electricity customers. They used to call any customer and say that your bill has not been deposited and the gas connection will be cut by evening. The customer used to get scared on getting the information about the gas connection being cut. After this, they used to send him an APK file and ask him to fill the relevant details in it again.
After downloading the APK file, the customer’s account related information reaches the cyber thugs and they clean out the account of the person concerned. Because as soon as you download the APK file, your mobile related information and OTP automatically reaches the cyber thugs.
