The police of Soraon police station of Prayagraj has got success in the case of ganja smuggling. On Tuesday, the police recovered ganja being smuggled in a truck. The recovered ganja weighs 762.12 kg. Its estimated cost is said to be Rs 2 crore. The ganja was smuggled from Odisha.

DCP Ganga Nagar Abhishek Bharti said that Soraon police was tracing the location of ganja smugglers. Accused Balkar Singh son of Gurubachan Singh resident of Samana Mandi Patiala Punjab was arrested after laying siege near the culvert located in village Lusanpur under Soraon area.

762.12 kg of ganja was recovered from truck number HP 11 B 3071. An additional number plate BR 01 GF 9291 was kept in the truck which was to be used when needed. The DCP said that the ganja was brought from Orissa. It was supplied to many areas of the city including Soraon, Handia, Phulpur in Prayagraj. It was also sent to nearby districts.
