World number-1 tennis player Jannik Sinner has reached the semi-finals of the US Open Tennis. While in the women’s category, world number-1 Iga Swiatek has become a victim of upset.
On Thursday in New York, Italy’s Sinner defeated Russia’s Medvedev 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. The match lasted for 2 hours and 29 minutes. In the quarter-finals of the women’s category, Poland’s Swiatek was defeated by sixth seed American Jessica Pegula 6-2, 6-4 in a quarter-final match that lasted for 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Sinner will face Jack Draper in the top-4 round, while Pegula will face Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic. Britain’s 25th seed Jack Draper defeated Australia’s Alex de Manoir 6-3, 7-5, 6-2. Muchova entered the semi-finals by defeating Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maya 6-1, 6-4.
