India beats China in Asian Champions Trophy: Sukhjeet, Uttam and Abhishek score goals; next match is against Japan

The Indian hockey team started with a win in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024. The Paris Olympics bronze medalist team defeated host China 3-0 in its first match played in Hulunbuir on Sunday. India’s next match will be against Japan tomorrow i.e. on 9 September.
Sukhjeet Singh, Uttam Singh and Abhishek scored for defending champion India. Sukhjeet opened the account by scoring a goal in the 14th minute of the first quarter. After this, Uttam Singh doubled the lead in the 27th minute of the second quarter. Abhishek scored a goal in the 32nd minute.
Six teams are participating Along with India, China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and Pakistan will participate in this tournament. India will face rival Pakistan on 14 September. The final of the tournament will be played on 17 September.
India is the most successful team The Indian hockey team is the defending champion of the Asian Champions Trophy. India has won the title four times and Pakistan three times. At the same time, South Korea won the title in 2021.
The Indian team won the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Singh, the Indian hockey team won the bronze medal in the recently concluded Paris Olympics. The Indian team defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match. This was the Indian team’s second consecutive bronze medal in the Olympics. In the Tokyo Olympics too, the team won bronze by defeating Germany.
