Sports administrator Randhir Singh was elected as the first Indian president at the 44th Asian Olympic Council meeting. Former Indian shooter Randhir Singh was made OCA President in the presence of Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and top officials of all 45 countries of Asia.

During the meeting, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said – Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are going to bid to host the Youth Olympic Games in 2030, but our focus is on hosting the 2036 Olympics.

Yoga included in Asian Games Yoga has been included in the 2026 Asian Games to be held in Japan. The new President of the Asian Olympic Council announced this, to which all the countries agreed.

Randhir has won all three medals in Asian Games 77-year-old Randhir, from Patiala in Punjab, has been associated with sports for a long time. Many players from his family have represented India. Randhir’s uncle Maharaja Yadavindra Singh played Test cricket for India and was a member of the IOC. His father Bhalindra Singh was also a first-class cricketer and was a member of the IOC between 1947 and 1992. Randhir, who participated in four Asian Games, won gold in trap shooting in 1978, bronze in 1982 and silver in 1986. He also participated in the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Canada.

Has extensive experience in sports administration Randhir entered sports administration in 1987 when he was appointed Secretary General of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), a position he held until 2012. He was made a member of the Sports Authority of India in 1987, a position he held until 2010. Randhir was also the vice-chairman of the organising committee for the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Randhir was made the Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in 1991. He remained in this position till 2015. After this, Randhir was made the President of OCA. Randhir was also a member of the IOC between 2001 and 2014.
