Many major trains running from Varanasi have been cancelled due to doubling and remodelling of the railway section. Many trains including Kashi Vishwanath Express, Garib Rath Express will not operate from September 11 to September 15. Some trains including Rajdhani will pass through a changed route.

The doubling work of Janghai-Phaphamau-Prayagraj station and Janghai-Barayaram-Ugrasenpur section of Varanasi-Janghai-Maa Bela Devi Dham Pratapgarh railway section is starting from Tuesday. Also, five pairs of trains to Banaras have been canceled as soon as the Janghai yard remodeling work reaches the second phase.

First let us tell you about the trains which have been cancelled

According to Railway PRO Ashok Kumar, 05437/05438 Ghazipur City-Prayagraj Sangam MEMU Special Train, 05117/05118 Banaras-Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh Unreserved Special Train will remain cancelled till 22 September. 15127/15128 Kashi Vishwanath from 11 to 15 September, 15107/15108 Banaras-Lucknow Express from 12 to 14 September and 22541/22542 Banaras-Anand Vihar Terminus Garib Rath Express from 12 to 13 September will remain cancelled. Till 23 September, 15119 Banaras-Dehradun Express will run from Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh instead of Banaras. 15120 Dehradun-Banaras Express running from Dehradun till 21 September will end its journey at Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh instead of Banaras.

Jodhpur Express will not stop from Bhadohi to Raebareli

14865 Varanasi City-Jodhpur Express leaving from Varanasi City on September 12 will go via Varanasi-Jafarabad-Ayodhya Cantt-Lucknow. Due to the change in route, this train will not stop at Bhadohi, Janghai, Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh, Amethi, Gauriganj and Rae Bareli stations.

Rajdhani and many trains will go via alternate routes

Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway Varanasi Division, Ashok Kumar, said that 20503 Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express leaving from Dibrugarh on 11th and 12th September will go via the changed route Varanasi Zafarabad-Sultanpur-Lucknow. 20504 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express leaving from New Delhi on 13th and 14th September will go via the changed route Lucknow-Sultanpur-Zafarabad-Varanasi. 20506 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express leaving from New Delhi on 12th September will go via the changed route Lucknow-Sultanpur-Zafarabad-Varanasi.

Trains will not stop at stations after route change

  • 11107 Gwalior-Banaras Express running from Gwalior till 21 September will go via Prayagraj Junction-Prayagraj Rambagh-Banaras. As a result of the change in route, this train will not stop at Prayag, Phaphamau, Phulpur, Ugrasenpur, Janghai, Suriyanwa, Bhadohi stations.
  • 11108 Banaras-Gwalior Bundelkhand Express running from Banaras till 22 September will go via Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh-Prayagraj Junction. Due to the change in route, this train will not stop at Bhadohi, Suriyanwa, Janghai, Ugrasenpur, Phulpur, Phaphamau, Prayag stations.
  • 15159 Chhapra-Durg Express running from Chhapra till 22 September has been changed from Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh-Prayagraj route and this train will not stop at Bhadohi, Jangipur, Phulpur, Prayag stations.
  • 15160 Durg-Chhapra Express running from Durg till 21 September will go via Prayagraj Junction-Prayagraj Rambagh-Banaras-Varanasi City. This train will not stop at Prayag, Phulpur, Janghai, Bhadohi stations.
  • 15181 Mau-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express running from Mau till 14th and 21st September will go via Mau-Aundihar-Varanasi City-Prayagraj Rambagh-Prayagraj Junction. This train will not stop at Muhammadabad, Azamgarh, Khorasan Road, Shahganj, Jaunpur, Madiaun, Janghai, Phulpur, Prayag stations.
  • 15182 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Mau Express running from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus till September 16 will go via Prayagraj Junction-Prayagraj Rambagh-Banaras-Varanasi City-Aundihar. This train will not stop at Prayag, Phulpur, Janghai, Madiahu, Jaunpur, Shahganj, Khorasan Road, Azamgarh, Muhammadabad stations.
  • 20941 Bandra Terminus-Ghazipur City Express running from Bandra Terminus will be diverted via Prayagraj Junction-Prayagraj Rambagh-Varanasi-Varanasi City. This train will not stop at Janghai, Madiahu, Jaunpur, Kerakat, Dobhi stations.
  • 20942 Ghazipur City-Bandra Terminus Express from Ghazipur City will be diverted via Varanasi City-Varanasi-Prayagraj Rambagh-Prayagraj Junction. This train will not stop at Dobhi, Kerakat, Jaunpur, Madiahu, Janghai stations.
