A major accident took place during Ganesh idol immersion in Unnao. On Wednesday afternoon, a tractor-trolley went out of control and overturned on Auras-Mohaan road in Hasanganj Kotwali area. In this accident, a woman and a teenager died on the spot, while four people were seriously injured.

According to the information, Rajjan Sahu, a resident of Baradev village, had organized the Ganesh festival. On Wednesday, more than two dozen people of the village were going towards the Sai river ghat in a tractor-trolley to immerse the Ganesh idol. As soon as the tractor-trolley reached near Bahrauli Jahan village on Auras-Mohaan Road, the vehicle suddenly went out of control and overturned.
In the accident, Vimala (55), wife of Radheshyam and Madhu (15), daughter Aatish died on the spot. Four people including Lalita (daughter of Anil) and Lakshmi (daughter of Pappu) were seriously injured. On receiving information about the incident, Hasanganj police station in-charge Chandrakant Singh reached the spot with police force and immediately admitted the injured to the hospital.
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, SDM Hasanganj Ramdev Nishad also reached the spot. He inspected the spot and gave instructions to provide better treatment to the injured. The police have taken the bodies of the deceased into custody and started the process of post-mortem.
